Today I'll examine the results of our survey on how to improve our company's communication system.
First I'll go through the survey questions, then summarize the results, and finally I'll state the conclusions.
After that, there'll be time for questions and discussion. So, let's start with the survey questions.
As you can see from the survey, we used multiple-choice questions......
And now let's turn to the results. As you can see from the diagram, most people in our overseas subsidiaries feel left in the dark
about what's going on in the company worldwide.
About three-fourths said they feel a lack of involvement, and 80% said
they'd like head office to keep all staff up to date on new developments.
For example, they would like to be notified about new acquisitions and construction projects and how these relate to our overall strategy.
The majority feel that efficiency can be improved by sharing successful techniques and ideas with overseas staff as soon as possible.
Let's move on to the conclusions. The first one is that we urgently need to improve our communication system
between head office and overseas subsidiaries.
A glaring example of this is the loss of an important customer recently due to failure to notify our Korean subsidiary about a policy change
The second is we must cultivate a sense of belonging (歸屬感) worldwide.
The overseas staffs especially need to know that they are a valuable and an integral part of our organization.
Another is that we should involve overseas staff in the process of making these changes, for example, by offering suggestions or feedback.
