my lunch usually not enough. oh dear.
it's OK when you consider how much they serve in other parts of the world...
i ate with some Indos and they couldn't finish theirs while some sporeans were already asking for seconds.
that's because we eat too much carbo for our own good.
Japs have a policy of eating till 3/4 full. The women are almost all in shape there even without working out.
it's not just carbo, jinn, it's a bit of everything.
just think of the common hawker food - wanton mee, hokkien mee, beef hor fun, etc. how much protein is there on 1 plate? At most 10%
we need more soup and sandwich places then.
but the truth is, sporeans dont like to pay for salad.
sandwiches! And cannot understand scarfing down fried beehoon or the like for breakfast...
heart attack city man! just looking at the shiny beehoon scares me.
hey beakee, wasn't there supposed to be a Pret-a-manger open in spore?
what about the starchy, nutrient-poor empty calories or chwee kueh, chee cheong fun, you tiao etc......
dunno... I thought so too. But I'm not part of the office lunch crowd so I'm not up to date with these things...
Pret A Manger's sole Singapore outlet, opened 2006 in Ogilvy Centre, Robinson Road appeared to have closed permanently, 2 January 2008.
wif inflation these days, portions are def smaller or more exp so must make the most of them mah
watch super size me! REm dun upsize ur meals!
cedele rocks. no trans-fat!
dunno man, Sagi. Last time i was at Cedele there was no taste either. Have they improved?
cost is the biggest reason people don't make a conscious effort to eat more protein than carbo, but we should be willing to pay for health.
Parsival dun like cedele? thot the cakes are pretty good & the orange citrus buns
Cedele and agrees with
muser about paying for health. You can't put a price on that.
love cedele! their cakes and bread are awesome...
hmm, i gotta try them again then. My bad experience was the Cedele at Great World city.
most food portions in SG is too small. Needs at least 2 helpings to be full. Carb good, proteins better.
i like e cedele @ raffles city shopping mall. their mains r very good! avoid the desserts though. i heard gd things abt cedele wheelock too!
haven't tried great world so i can't give you a comparison...but i wld say it's worth a 2nd chance.
Adarksecret: lcky i hv a small appetite
thinks small appetites make it much easier to consistently eat healthily.
having big appetite only mean u hv to eat healthily too, since chances of u stuffing yr face w yummy junk r higher. Gotta work out more too
is thinking about the unavoidable ongoing issue of cost, in context of general cost of living.
smll appetites sure hlp. can't do buffet runs like my friends
.
muser, @ tis stage, i think it's manageable. jz a matter of lifestyle
just tried “the Stock Pot” new cafe at esplanade. replacing the EarShot. the soups are not bad.. salad so-so..
