I was able to open a bank account for my child without his SS card (I had the number).

mine took his bday money last week & deposited it, plus some that was in his piggy bank. He couldn't believe he had $144 lol

My kids each have their own accounts. Madi was so proud that she got to sign her own name (last year)

we make him save half of whatever he gets, either from his allowance or as gifts. The other half he can spend.

He gets 2 a week for allowance, so 1 is saved. He should only have about $20.

that's what i'm doing as well. 1/2 keep to spend, 1/2 into savings. i think it's a great thing for kids to do.
