The kids are in there b/c they MUST have exploratory classes while reg teachers plan.

Is there another Spanish teacher next door to her?

Maybe start off with how to deal with thirty students... she will need management techniques first.

the key to language classes lies more in interesting task-based activites with lots of variety. Keeping tasks under 15 mins. Jane Willis TBL

students must work in pairs and groups to get some practice using the language. Language classes that are teacher-fronted are deadly.

Do you speak Spanish? Where is she from? Has she just arrived in the US?

culture can be more of an obstacle than language with students.
icpjones
feels

she needs to observe classes and be aware of expectation and classroom management issues.

I couldn't agree more, but my fear is she will be thrown to the wolves
