Check Friendfeed you might like it, you can set it up and it will pickup what you like in youtube and it has avery nice comment system

The look and feel/layout and design and user experience for visitors is the priority.

Freindsfeed to me looks cluttered.

Trying out an old account I have on Tumblr, will see what themes they have and if it'll look right.

may not seem important now but maybe consider whether the service is stable. Trivial has a way of becoming important for personal reasons.
