yes, you could remove and block fans if you wanted, but I don't think it is made clear that you would need to do so.

I was thinking of dooneybird and someone else who said they set their profile to private as they were posting photos of their kids

but then posted a photo in the top level plurk instead of as a reply - so I wondered if they realised old fans would be able to see it

trouble is I was only a fan so couldn't plurk them to tell them

Maybe somebody reading this is a friend of dooneybird?
