I'm not sure if this story is about Edna's "flaws," as the definition of realism suggests.
She doesn't want her "storybook" life, but they doesn't exactly mean she is flawed.
Think about how she looks to other people of her time and society. What woud they say?
they would definitely say she is flawed. she would say they are flawed. so realism it is!
edna yes, chopin...maybe?
that Chopin's use of details about society and culture made her a great realist.

Chopin is a realist because she talks about real life. her story isn't a reflection of the perfect Victorian life, its a serious look at

what really went on behind the scenes. the not so pretty reality. isn't that the point of realism?
