what Daisy meant by her final message to winterbourne; was it love? was it just more of her flirtatiousness?

I think it was her way of saying that she loved him. She just stayed with Giovanelli because he was easier to stay distanced from.
I'm in Eng 553 and this reminds me of "The Sun also Rises". It's sort of like the triangle between Jake, Lady Brett Ashley and Mike Campbell
I think it was sincere "like". I would like to think that while on her deathbed she would cease aimlessly flirting and just be truthful lol.
it probably has a lot to do with why she said she was engaged in the first place. what sort of reaction did she want or expect from W, and..
..why later she wanted him to know the truth because she does actually value it.
i personally think Daisy sees the world as a huge game, or at least wants the world to think that's what she thinks. ...haha. dunnooo
I don't think Daisy ever would have settled down. At least until her father forced her with an arranged marriage.
I'm not sure either of them loved each other. It was a chase and infatuation. I'm sure what she expected from her message
Their relationship is very similar to Jake and Brett in "The Sun Also Rises"...
...Daisy, despite being beautiful and protraying innocence, is very assertive and is no dummy...
...she uses her feminity to get what she wants. Brett did similar things as well.
Winterbourne is like Jake in that he is impotent...impotent to this new identity of American femininity.
