the aroma this afternoon as I roasted the vine tomatoes and garlic was divine
shame it tasted pants
Oh no, it's terrible when the taste doesn't live up to the smell and anticipation!
I know and the picture looked so good too.
what did you make and from which book?
what didn't you like about it oprecisely.? TOmato bread soup is kind of thick and mushy.
Personally I wouldn't have used that type of tomato, probably
none of us liked the taste
nothing to do with consistency
I've made lovely tomato soup before
also it only made enough for two despite saying it served four
two small servings at that!
hmm. it seems simple - maybe not enough ingredients? Also I wouldn't use sour dough as I don't like it, maybe ciabatta or Pugliese

they seem to have more stock in them which muight help?
but i haven't tried them. Maybe also a plum tomato or Roma instead of a vine. VIne tomatoes aren't my favourites
can you get dry farmed tomatoes there, like 'Early Girls'? They have a really great intense flavour. Here they are in season right now
I thought stock might help.
it actually cost me a lot to buy the tomatoes so it was far from an economical dinner
I'd go for plums in that case then. DO you call them plums or Roma's?
