yesterday, a beautiful, tiny 12 yr old niece commented on facebook that she looked "fat" in a photo. This makes me very sad.

oh man
That always makes me so sad. I thought I was fat starting around 10... dancing and gymnastics are to blame.

My 10 yo is the same way. She is almost as tall as me and weighs all of 60 pds. I made the mistake of saying I weighed 55 pds at her age

glad to have a boy when it comes to that stuff, though boys are getting hit with it more these days.

when my oldest was in 4th grade (he's 28 now), one of his friends was anorexic. a boy.

had an anorexic friend (boy) growing up. It still affects far more girls, but the number of boys with image issues is astounding too

I truly don't get it. I never thought I was fat (back then). Even when my mom started telling me I was (at 104 lbs) I knew I wasn't.

And I was a gymnast, etc and still never felt that pressure.
