asked a girl to a concert last week. got somewhat "rejected", but not really. the reason was:

someone else asked her before already, but she didn't wanna go with him. And told him no time and no money.

so if she had gone with me, it would have looked rather bad. she's doing the right thing imo. I shouldn't have hesitated the 2 days...
