try restoring it and when it asks if you want to use your back up, dont, do a clean restore

I had that problem with my first gen iphone when updating to 2.0

if that doesn't work take it to the apple store, they will fix it for you

I've done all that and been to the apple store before. The ultimate goal here is for the bricking to stop. This is becoming a habit.

I've had an iPhone for over 2 years so I'm not a noob. The problem is that it happens every damn time now. I need that to stop.
