wondering why Plurk only notifies you of 250 responses, even if there are thousands of them (when you have been inactive for a while).

but when you mark those 250 as read, you get another 250 unread. The thousands are still unread, just only show up in batches of 250.
maybe they got a good deal on 2's and 5's
