it's for a project I'm completing where the books - all juvenile literature - will be paired with primary sources for educators.

Not all of them - I have science fiction to realistic fiction.

The sci-fi one will be paired with the Library of Congress' Thomas Collection, where students can research current laws.

BUT - you are correct that a good many of them are, in fact, historical fiction. :-)
