why does plurk have 140 characters too? What isit about 140 ??

because on typewriters you could fit 70 characters on a typical line of 8.5 x 11 paper with 1" margins so 140 = 2 lines of text.

Doesn't 140 characters on Plurk seem like more characters than on Twitter? Wierd, but I always feel like I have more room here.
