I'd take something small, like a cotton dishcloth. In my mind cotton is just easier to deal with in sand for some reason...

I've never actually knit a dishcloth either. I crochet mine because I want them to be as thick as possible. :-)

I have to admit, I'm still using the ones my mum had here for since, well, forever (my whole life), and the wonderful things just hold up ..

... and up. I do kind of have an aversion to corchet squares do to my neverending granny squares crochet blanket, started in 1993 or so.

Aah. I've also started a crochet blanket about a year ago and it's still not done. Kinda on the backburner right now. :-)

my mum always jocked I'd get the blanket done by the time I finished school. well, now it's 7 years later and it's still not done ;-)

I haven't knit more than 2 socks (as in single, not of the same pair) this year. I guess I should catch up, some!
